Product Description:
Climb Aluminium stocks 3003 aluminum sheets - a manganese alloy, part of the common alloy group. 3003 is the most widely used of all aluminum alloys. It is essentially commercially pure aluminum with the addition of manganese which increases the strength approx. 20% over 1100 grade aluminum alloy. 3003 may show some slight discoloration when anodized, but it reacts well to mechanical and organic finishings. Aluminim 3003 is easily welded and brazed, but soldering is limited to the torch method. It has all the excellent characteristics of 1100 with higher strength.
Product Features:
3003 aluminum is a general purpose alloy that demonstrates moderate strength, good formability, workability, and can be easily drawn. It shows about 20% greater strength than 1100 aluminum and its primary alloying element is manganese. It shows up in everyday products from hardware and utensils to general sheet metal fabrication and automotive components. It is considered very similar to 3004. The key difference between the two aluminum grades is strength. Unlike 3003 aluminum 3004 has an addition of 1% magnesium which lends it greater strength, nearing the levels of 5052 aluminum.
